First Take Friday Installment No. 6

First Take Friday Installment No. 6

Alberto Ginastera (1916-1983) Danza de la moza donosa (Dance of the graceful maiden, or dance of the delightful young lady) Either way, you can clearly hear the dance and the female creature. This music is certainly glorious in it's seductive nature. Composed when Ginastera was just 21 years old I wish I knew what maiden he had in mind?

Enjoy the music and have a great weekend!

First Take Friday Installment No. 5

Partita in G Major  BWV 829 J.S. Bach Praeambulum

I need to slow down, use the metronome more and get my piano tuned. Oh yea, and not belly ache when I make a mistake. Not funny.

As always thank you for listening.

Happy Weekend Beautiful People!

First Take Friday Installment No. 4

Hey Gang,

Here is my video for the week.

A couple of follow up notes. Not the musical ones. In my video I said that Scarlatti died in 1957. Nope. He died in 1757. Right. And Domenico (the son) DID study music with Alessandro (the dad). Forgive me folks. One of my main missions in doing this is to educate people about the glory of this music and to be able to match my thoughts with my words and ultimately my heart to my hands at all times. On the first take. One day you will hear me play the way I do when not a soul is around, when it's just me and Sweet Stanley. Please keep coming back. I can almost guarantee that we will get better at this.

Have a glorious weekend!

First Take Friday Installment No. 3

The Truth. I have not been practicing. At all. I've been hanging out with friends and watching movies and playing with Stanley (my dog) and going to Barton Springs and thinking I really should practice and going to Barton Springs again and teaching and working out and teaching and having tons of fun. Practicing is fun just not all of the time which is why I took the majority of June off. I'm back.

Here's a little Wolfy! (PATRYCE) oh uh
Joannes Chrysostomus Wolfgangus Theophilus Mozart (1756-1791)
yea, cool name
He was born in Salzburg.
Theophilus ("love of God")

He died when he was my age. Yup. 35.
